Opinion Poll....

I don't know about you, but I am glad Michael Vick is getting to play football again. I forgive him and I believe he deserves a second chance. What about these people who do A LOT WORSE... and to people? I believe what he did was wrong, he has learned from his mistakes...Now leave him alone about it.

I stayed on my soapbox about this when it was happening and I am very glad he has been given another chance. You have your right to your opinion and I have mine. What do you all think about the ordeal and are you glad he is back in the NFL? Do you believe, as I do, the crime was blown way out of porportion? Interested to know what you think.

  1. I am ONLY giving you my opinion because you asked.......
I do NOT believe the crime was blown out of proportion......cruelty to animals should be taken very seriously. What he did was heinous (is that how to spell that?).
You are correct about people doing far worse...and to people....but I don't think either type of criminal should be glorified and paid millions of dollars. I realize he has a right to work but he will be in a position that potentially makes him a role model for young children......I don't want my children to look up to someone like that.

  2. Thanks for the comment! I want to know what people think. I do not think he should be glorified but I cannot say that I believe his life should be ruined because of it either. I think he did wrong but I think he deserves it to be PUT IN THE PAST. I don't believe in cruelty to animals. I DO BELIEVE IT IS WRONG. I think people also take animal rights to

  4. I think what he did was wrong, but he served his time. I am glad he is getting to play again. At least he did serve his time instead of trying to get out of it like most of the celebrities do.

  5. I agree with all of the above! What he did was clearly wrong but it does always seem like the media makes a much bigger deal over cruelty to animals than they do with crimes involving people. I love my dog & would be upset if someone harmed him but I would be much more upset if someone was cruel to my child. He's served his time and hopefully learned his lesson. Play ball!

  6. Message from Will:

He bred doggs to fight and kill other dogs. When the dogs wouldn't fight he stabbed them, drowned them and electricuted them. He got exactly what he deserved and will continue to get what he desrves.....a life of shame. He served his time but that stigma will never leave him and it shouldn't. Forgiving is one thing, forgettin' is something else. Of course he has the right to work again, but all NFL owners have the right to say, "I don't want that guy on my team." As far as the crime being blown out of proportion, the next time you read a story about a toddler having to get 60 stitches in the face because of a pit bull attack, thank people like Michael Vick, who trained dogs to rip another dogs throat out of its neck. Thank people like Michael Vick who take puppies that want to lick faces of children and turn them into killers that scar children for life. That toddler won't be glad for Vick or any cruel thug like him that got the luxury of playing football again. I personally don't care what Michael Vick does from this point forward. He alone chose the life he lived and he will have to live with the consequences. That's my opinion!

  7. Thanks Will and Amber. See your point entirely. Again I will say...I don't agree with the crime. However, with this case and many other animal cruelty cases, I get aggravated because people make far too big a deal out of animals. BUT...your point about them turning and hurting humans I DO UNDERSTAND!!! I think there is just a part of me that feels sorry for people who have worked hard and made something of themselves, make a mistake, and have it all thrown away. I feel people are sometimes just used as examples when if it were "any old Joe," nothing would have happened (or at least not much would have happened). So...YES, good point on animals made mean and biting people. YES, I would be upset if this happened to my little one... my opinion would be totally changed. But, with the case at hand, it doesn't change the feeling I have that it was blown out of porportion. I still believe he has every right to live his life again and play football. Do I believe he should be looked at with great honor? NO! But leave him alone. If any of you made a mistake like this, I'd like to think I would forgive you and move on. Maybe this has brought light onto things like this and it will stop. I don't watch NFL Football but this is a case that has pinched a nerve with me from the get go. Now, let me add...I am sure Will would love to argue this case with me over and over...I am not saying he is wrong...but I believe I also have the right to this opinion....

  8. Just for the record, Will wrote that post entirely on his own. I had nothing to do with it...I agree with him...but I had nothing to do with the post. I don't like to argue...at least not publicly. So count me out of this one.

  9. It is a matter of stating opinions and hearing what other people think. Sorry to offend any of you. I like to discuss things happening in the news. Some agree with my opinions and some don't. That's O.K. with me. Not trying to start a blog war or anything. Just simply adults discussing current events. I think it is good to know what's going on in the world and sometimes it is even worth talking about whether or not people agree with you. I know myself, as a SAHM, I don't get to discuss as much of current events as I would like. So thanks to you all for carrying on this blog chat with me. Feel free to keep them coming.
