Playing with Breelyn

Playing with Breelyn

Yesterday, we went to visit our old neighbors, Patrice and Breelyn Phillips. We miss them a lot. Allie had fun playing with Breelyn and her dog Hannah and I enjoyed some much needed adult conversation with Patrice!

I ain't eatin no goat!

I took Allie to Boss Hill's goat stew yesterday. We opted for the chicken stew. Allie seemed to enjoy herself...drinking water, feeding a dog a cookie and dancing with the old folks to Elvira...

Camera battery died...no pics of the dancing.

WAR PAINT

Allie loves to play in my make-up while I get ready. What she doesn't eat, she puts on her face. This is what happened after a recent battle with the mascara...

Mascara 1 Allie 0
Rematch...to be determined...

Pageant hair

Allie is finally getting enough hair for me to give her the bouffant look. I love big hair. I have had it since the late 80s and if I have anything to do with it Allie will have big hair for many decades to come. From teased bangs-- to unimaginable heights in the back--you gotta love a good teased look. Add a little Suave or White Rain and we are good to go...

Can we be any more country?

Allie and I sat in the yard last night and cut up watermelon and ate it. This was a new experience for her and I think she liked it.

Memorial Day

A little late but here are a couple of pictures I took at MawMaw and PawPaw's on Memorial Day. We all got together to eat stuff from the grill. It's really nice to have a big family. I really enjoy getting together with my mother-in-law and sis-in-law's. We have a blast chatting and laughing and watching the kiddies. As for the men... We really only saw them when they can in the kitchen to get food. I am sure their conversations weren't as good as ours:)

Allie loves little Aidan. Maybe they'll be buddies. Interesting fact...Allie and Aidan are first and fifth cousins. Heather and I are third cousins...

Friends, are you there?

I am writing requesting help again. If any of you use those Huggies carry around wipes, please save the cases for me. I need them for a project. Those who go to church with me can bring them there...anyone else we can figure out a way to get together.

Let's go to the square

O.K. chicks. Some of my fondest memories in high school are of us cruising around the square in our "ugly" cars trying to meet some boys. And guess what...we can do it again this Saturday night. Minus the ugly cars, big hair, tight jeans, red lipstick and of course no picking up boys this time around.
Yes, my dreams have come true. Mayor Dan has granted that the square be reopened for one night for a -reunion of sorts-. Some guy will be taking up donations at his minivan which will go to the Spirit of Athens people. Pretty cool, huh?
Come on y'all. Do you remember how disappointing it was when they closed down our main form of entertainment? Devastating, right?
I say we put in the "Thong Song," tease up our bangs, get out the Guess jeans, round up the girls, load in the minivan and cruise.

Disclaimer- Not responsible for your circulation being cut off from putting on those old jeans, red eye from too much Suave hairspray, red teeth from too much red lipstick and---no I do not support the lyrics of the Thong Song.

Aunt She-She turns 23

Aunt Shelly turned 23 yesterday which means 30 is just around the corner for me. I am expecting much attention and celebration this birthday...hint to all my friends.
Anyway, Mama and Daddy always go out of their ways to make us feel special on our birthdays. Last night we had steak, hamburger, hotdogs, salad, corn, baked potato and cheesecake for Shelly's menu choice of the night. Not cheap to feed the Wales girls. I think I pretty much requested the same menu for my birthday last year. Anyway, here's some pics from the night along with Allie's popular pigtail attraction.

New house, new look

I have been working doing some different projects in my house since we have moved... Here are a few things I like so far...

Kitchen/Dining

Allie's Bathroom

Master Bedroom

Living room side table

Halle Berry, Halle Berry

Allie loves to dance when we sing the Halle Berry song. It was on in Matt's truck yesterday and Allie was trying to bust a bit of a move.

Pooping in the Pool

Not really but I suspect it will happen before the summer is over. I got Allie a baby pool at Wal-Mart yesterday and I expect to get a lot of use out of it over the summer. I got this swimsuit for $2.50 last year on clearance at K-Mart. Very proud of that deal. Anyway Allie loved the pool and stayed in her swimsuit for a long time, diaperless. I think we marked our territory A LOT yesterday.

Buns and Biscuits

I took Allie out of the tub this morning and let her run naked for a minute. Just enough time to scratch our butts and eat some biscuits!!!

"Where a kid can be a kid!"

Today we took Allie to Chuck E. Cheese's. The only thing she liked was Skee Ball or whatever they call it these days. She would get the ball and scream and get real giddy. Anyway, Matt and I had fun using the tokens. We went to the one in Decatur. I didn't have my camera because I didn't know we were going. It was spur of the moment and last time I took my camera to Huntsville...well we all know what happened there...MURDER IN THE FIRST. We won more than 1oo tickets so I got Allie a snow globe and stickers. The stickers kept her busy in mall for a while. Yay! Anyhoo, she fell asleep in the car between 2 and 2:30 and it is 4:39 and she is still asleep! Yay me! Later...

Me and my chair

Nana brought Allie a surprise today. Now Allie has her own cute little chair to sit in and watch T.V. She loves it! Thanks Nana.

About me

There are a few things that seem to come up in the presence of my family from to time...
1. The time I got mad at my Uncle John and told him he was going to die. He drove like 20 mph all the way home. I was 4.
2. The time my dad brought home a 1980 something teal green Sunbird for me to drive. He was so excited. I told him I wasn't driving it. I was 16.
AND
3. The many times I would eat 10 Pillsbury biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I did it again today. I ate 9 (good ole times at Mom's house). I am 29.

I have always been a big breakfast eater. Those who don't eat breakfast, you are missing out!

A photo shoot, it was not...

Last night at MawMaw's Mother's Day supper at Aunt Erica's and Uncle Jim's the kiddos were, let me see...less than cooperative. I did manage to get a few good snaps but they weren't having any of it when it came to the group shot, atleast not all of them.
Ava and Allie got quiet for a minute...of course they did PawPaw was giving them sweet tea and Peanut Butter pie.

It was a struggle to get this shot of Allie and me. Can't you tell?

Uncle J's Hat

Uncle Jordan has been wearing a cowboy hat the past couple of times we have seen him. All the boys...minus Will seem to like to wear these things from time to time. Fashion Do or Fashion Don't...you decide.
Anyway, Allie had fun playing with it last night at MawMaw's Mother's Day supper.

As you see Allie is naked. She got her dress wet somehow and we are not sure what happened. I suspect she went fishing...IN THE TOILET!

Playing Ball with aunt "She-She"

We visited my wonderful sister Shelly Monday at work and Allie had blast playing "ba" (ball) in the salon. My sister works at Kari's Place for Hair and is a very good hair stylist. Go see her and tell her I sent you. She is so good to us and loves us soooo much. We love you too...She-She. We gave Allie a "Do"...notice the pigtails.

Posing for Mother's Day

I guess this is a tradition for us. This makes year #2 that we cheese for the camera in our Sunday clothes for a keepsake Mother's Day pic...ENJOY!

Help!!!!!!

I am working hard decorating my new house. I love to decorate. I have already changed things up a bit. Anyway. I need your help... I need some old plantation blinds. I don't care what size or in how good of shape they are in. I also want an old wooden door. If you have these or know where to get them let me know. I fill you in on what they are for later. Peace out...

Picking my butt...

What is it with little kids and picking their butts?

Ranch Dressing

That is Allie actually sticking her head in a bowl of Ranch Dressing. It's like she licking up liquid gold or something. She loves this stuff she would eat it on anything!!!
