Fun, fun, fun

Saturday Allie and I went to the tea party for the Jessica Elkins Scholarship and meningitis awareness. It was super cool and a lot of fun. Several girls from church were there and we got to sit at Katherine Lewter and Leanne Helums' table. It was lovely and fun chatting with the girls. Thanks to y'all for a fun lunch and great conversation.

All dressed up and ready to go.

Sneak Peek!!

Here's a sneak peek of my fall/Halloween decorations. More pics when I am finished. The following is a wreath I made and part of a tablescape.

Playing outside

Allie is at the stage where she wants to get in her toys. Like the babydoll stroller and grocery cart and she gets sooo mad in the process.

Time to get up!

With the exception of the first few weeks and the middle of the night wake-up calls, I have been happily greeting Allie whenever she wakes up for most of her life. I always get and act so giddy when I go get her up. I'll sing her a song (that I make up) or just put my hands over my face and scream with excitement. I cherish the look on her face when I go in there to get her. She is almost always so excited to see me. For the most part, I am the one her puts her to bed every night and gets her up every morning. I just hope she remembers how special I try to always make her feel. No matter how tired I am or how I would love her to sleep just a little longer, I just go in there and treat it like it's a big Ole' party and she loves it.

On a side note...There are many times, for me, as a mother where I think "Does this get any better?" And then there are days like today when she came in the bathroom with me while I was fixing my hair, stands at my feet and says "Hug, hug." So I bend down and we hug for several seconds and I think..."It doesn't get any better than this!"

Saturdays with Nanny

Lately, my mom, "Nanny," as Allie likes to call her has been spending either Friday or Saturday with us. It has just seemed to turn out that way lately. A few weeks ago we went to the Crape Myrtle Festival, no camera card that day so no blog about that, last week it was yard sales and this week it was Art on the Square and K-Mart. We went to AOTS for our first stop. I knew the activities were too advanced for little ones but we stopped to get a good hamburger and glance at the goodies. But when we got there...NO HAMBURGERS TO BE FOUND. O.K. what kind of event like this doesn't have a hamburger/hot dog vendor. What a shame? We left with an empty feeling...

So, we headed to McD's for nuggets and burgers. Allie had a big time cramming food in her mouth and then spitting it out. She was wild today.

Last, we went to K-Mart to pick out Christmas presents from Nanny and Papa...YAY for Allie!!!

Go Red Devils!!!

Friday night after we ate supper at Mama and Daddy's, we met up with Erica, Jim and Ava at the Elkmont/West game. It was Elkmont's Homecoming so I was sort of excited about it. Well, we get there and it certainly is far from the days of high school when I knew so many of the crowd and so many knew me. I saw about a handful of peeps that I knew. My, my 13 years ago, I was celebrating EHS homecoming 1996. We had a good time especially since at h/t EHS was beating West 25-0. Go Red Devils! In your face...Matt, Erica and Jim!!!

Me and Matt at the game. He gets so worked up over football. Who really cares? Right? I know, I know...a lot of people do. But me, I hardly watched any of the game.

Allie and her puppy dog.

Shake, shake, shake.

Sleepy or cheering?

Ava and Allie watching the band.

Future cheerleaders?

Me and Allie.

Yay!!!

All dressed up.

Trash to Treasure

I was headed home one day when I passed Lovell Self Storage hosting a huge yard sale. You see, when people won't pay their bill, their stuff gets unloaded for a yard sale. So I was happy to adopt this table and chairs and turn it into something that I think is BEAUTIFUL. I painted the table and chairs black, distressed them and then added a brown paint/Wipe-On Poly coat to give it this wonderful weathered look. I added these two toile chairs and now it's our breakfast table. What do you think? By the way the table was $15 and the chairs were $3 a piece. The toile chairs are new and were a lot more expensive. Anyway...here's some pics!!!

Nuttin' but fun

Good ol' country folks we are. Ain't nothing better than cruisin' up to Tennessee to Dog Days on Labor Day. All we bought were some socks and mulch but we had a good time.

Helping Daddy drive to Dog Days. Don't worry we were just in line to park.

A chicken? City folk don't see chickens!!!

A Lovell reunion...

Monday night we headed to Pauline's house for Potluck and music. Ava and Allie seemed to have more fun than anyone else. They really enjoy dancing to the men playing bluegrass...

Ava and Allie putting on a show.

Aidan wasn't much for the action tonight!!!

More showing out!!!

Allie kept playing in the soda bucket.

Did we really dress this way???

I was sifting through some other people's blogs and stumbled upon this picture. Lots of pretty girls in this picture but at first glance you might think this was taken in the 80s, right? Well the shocker is this person is 31. 3-1. Really? This means she would have been a cheerleader about the time I graduated high school. Yes, this is a cheerleader picture. Maybe you guys don't catch the humor...but me..."Is this for real?" I thought we dressed cooler than this...
